The Encyclopaedic History of Hannington, the 20th Century, 1901-2000. Revised Edition 2006. This is, in fact, a complete encyclopaedia of Hannington, covering the period from Queen Victoria's death to the dawn of the New Millennium. Not only does this book cover the village of Hannington, but also the tithing of Foscott (near Ewhurst), the farms at Freemantle and Sheardown, the hamlet of Ibworth, Freemantle Park and North Oakley.
Part I (The Parish and Community, pp 1 to 80) contains a general history of the parish of Hannington during the 20th Century, and of the local institutions there. It deals with such aspects as local government, the village school, the police and crime, various occupations of the inhabitants, and community activities. The picture shows the Vine Hunt meeting at Hannington in 1974.
Part II (The People and Families, pp 81 to 232) contains biographies of all the recorded individuals and families who had lived in the parish or had owned properties there during the 20th Century.
Part III (The House and Lands, pp 233 to 450) relates the histories of all the individual properties within this parish during the 20th Century.
